Camera Settings and Studio

For the camera setting we had to use 1/160, but with the aperture used F5.8 or F6.8, because the higher it is the more light will come in and the  more lower it is there will be less light. Then always on manual, and the lens on automatic, as then you can move it to zoom in or out

Have to use a tripod when doing photoshoots like this as can't hold it as would not be exactly how you want it, depends how you are working.

When in the studio, if the roll paper background is run out, always ask the technical staff to do so.

Never wear shoes when walking on the paper and the floor near to it.

Make sure the cable are put back properly when you are done and when you are shooting, as they can be dangerous to trip or anything.

Always take back the equipment you have used the photography hatch when you have done, or the next morning.

Also the equipment in the studio go back to where the proper place is for them.

You can book any studio, but have to do so in the technical office in the JM building.

Editing Images

When using photoshop i used the editing program that came up with the photograph already in it showing the raw image, which is what i like best to use, for the first one i edited it slightly with the whites, shadow and highlight, to get the nice shadow on the side of the face , but the highlight to make the other side of the fact stand be much brighter, as didn't use much light for this shoot.

The second i done the same sort of thing but didn't use much highlight as makes the skin blurred over so you can't see any texture of the actual skin. But i did use it less than the other as you can see the face much clearer in this one.

Third the one i didn't like as much as the other two, but shows how i wanted it to look, but i like how the eyes stand out than anything else. The editing i used was much more shadow and highlight on the cheekbone, as the quality is a lot nicer and the light is brighter looking.

The editing on these were the same program, that comes up on photoshop when you open the image from the file itself. But used saturation to get it black and white and then clarity of how subtle i wanted the image to look and i chose it be soft, as the lighting was quite bright anyway, what i did to achieve this was using the boards close to the model on each side.
The editing i thought was to make it subtle and soft, especially as the model is so close to the camera.

This one i like the best and has the best lighting and the quality is good, as for the skin i have used the highlighter to make it have less texture, but you can still see under the eyes though, the most that stand out is the eyes, but it shows the skills that i have learnt, but especially with editing i think works better than what i took with the camera.

Hair style that i decided to go for in the Photoshoot

Long hair and wavy for the colour beauty someone who is medium height, because as i thought it was natural i wanted it to be how it is naturally, but i think it works, because the poses that were done were to do with the hair and thats why i wanted it in this style.

I chose a messy ponytail, as the model i was using i thought suited that look and the look i wanted for the monochrome photographs, and be slightly different than the other.

I like this one as it looks more like the shoot i did, but she has shorter hair and a different colour.

MoodBoard Images

i have chosen image i have chosen images i have found to do with being natural and the products.

I think that they work well on the mood board as it shows the what could have used to achieve it, but was simple just to show the skills i could do.

I can't remember what this exact product was, but is a powder to show the natural side of it, but what wasn't used, as the models looked how they would look day to day.

These are to show the sort of things the models wore, which were black, as didn't want something to focus away from the face and wasn't shooting the whole figure, but just headshots.

I included flowers that haven't got much colour, that i thought went with the natural look, which makes the mood board more interesting and not just clothes and makeup, which i think is slightly boring.

Funny Face Movie

Funny Face

Cast

Audrey Hepburn
Fred Astaire

1. What it is about?

Is a comedy, Musical and romance. About a fashion photographer who is interested in a girl from a bookstore, who had photographed by accident and he thinks she could be a model. In then which they fall for each other, and chaos ensues.

The way she changes so much is really interesting, of how being with someone or someone telling you what they like about you, makes you show that off and change for the better.

I have looked as this film as it is about a fashion photographer and what happens to her, and is interesting as she goes through a change in her appearance and i think that is good to watch, especially as it is Audrey Hepburn and is strange to see her looking unfashionable at the beginning.

Natural beauty Monochrome Photographs i have chosen for the final

I really like the shadow on this one, as you can see it behind the model and on one side of the face. It is exactly what i wanted to achieve for this project and a good starting point for the next time.
I think this is the best out of all of them, as the lighting is soft and is a lot brighter, i have edited it slightly with the highlight, but you can still see the quality of the skin. The eyes really stand out and i like that they do,as it brings something to the image and pieces of hair in her face, makes a good composition.
I like the composition and the quality of the image, as i have edited it slightly, but still looks much like the raw image straight from the camera. What it think i could improve is how is how i set up the lighting, as i think i need to improve that.
